Classes & Curriculum

Agriculture education is based on a three circles model, classroom instruction, Supervised Agricultural Experience Project (SAE), and FFA.  Each of these three circles is a key component in preparing for students for premier leadership, personal growth and
career success.

Courses  offered through the Agriculture Department sort themselves into three distinct pathways including plant science, animal science, and agriculture mechanics.  All types of students pursue agriculture education ranging from those planning to enter the work force directly after high school, and those planning to attend Universities after high school graduation.  Courses in the department follow California Career Technical Education Standards as well as many standards from core content areas as they apply to agriculture.

Many courses meet UC entrance requirements and some even offer college credit
