Supervised Agriculture Experience Projects

Designed to be a real world application of principles taught in the classroom as well as career exploration and skill building, the Supervised Agricultural Experience project (SAE) helps students to build and apply their skills outside the classroom setting. The real world problems and scenarios help students to build interpersonal and technical skills and potentially help the student to generate income.
As part of the SAE component you MUST keep a current Official FFA Record Book. Students will work together with their FFA advisor to develop and approve an appropriate project. Common projects include but are not limited to raising animals, working for agriculture related businesses, lawn/garden maintenance, research projects, and presentations.
In general, projects can be categorized into four types:
-
Exploratory - Learn about the big picture of agriculture and its many related careers.
-
Research/Experimentation and Analysis - Conduct research and analyze information to discover new knowledge.
-
Ownership/Entrepreneurship - Plan and operate an agriculture-related business.
-
Placement - Work for a business or individual, either for pay or for the experience.
